Bali

Bali is one of the top destinations in Indonesia. This relatively small island has a number of interesting tourist attractions and many excellent and exotic beaches.

Hotels in Bali

Bali is by far the most popular visitor destination in Indonesia. Bali's blend of unique culture, legendary beaches and spectacular highland regions make it a favourite among global travelers. Bali is also well known for its mouthwatering cuisines and has many restaurants. On Bali you can find some of the best five-star hotels and beach resorts imaginable.

Bali is surrounded by coral reefs. Beaches in the south tend to have white sand while those in the north and west have black sand. The beach town of Padangbai in the southeast has both. Some Bali beaches are wide, long and easy accessible, with swaying palm trees. Other beaches are hard to get to, and often located in a tiny bay right below huge cliffs. In some areas of Bali the ocean is calm and perfect for swimming, snorkeling or diving. In other parts of the island there are high waves and strong currents, which make Bali one of the best surf spots in the world.

On north Bali the 8 km strip of volcanic black beaches in Lovina offers a great escape from the tourist outbreak in the south. The calm water provides opportunity for swimming, snorkeling and diving. In the south Bali Badung region, well known beaches include the beaches of Kuta, Seminyak, Legian, Sanur, Seseh and Canggu. These beaches are known worldwide for excellent surfing. The southern beaches are the most crowded beaches on Bali and offer everything from massages, kite surfing to party on the beach. The other beaches towards the north-west are however deserted and undeveloped. These are the beaches where the die hard surfers are found. The mixture of beaches on the south Bali Bukit Peninsula ensures excitement for every traveller. The landscape is dominated by four and five star hotels. On the other side of the peninsula only the excellent surf breaks is important. Even non-surfers should visit these beaches. The beaches on east Bali are less popular, quiet but also very charming. The area is excellent for snorkeling and diving. In west Bali are the most deserted beaches in Bali. The coast offers great mountains view and eye catching rice fields.

One of the main attractions of Bali is the very taste Balinese cuisine. The food is spicy and is served in decorated plates. The food is cooked in pedang style and very tasty. The traditional Balinese food includes Babi Guling, Bebek Betutu, Sate Lilit, grilled marinated fish and Nasi Kuning. Shopping in Bali can be fun. From fine handicrafts, antique furniture, painting, gold and silver jewelry, wood and stone carvings, woven and dyed fabrics, Bali is filled with great shopping items.
