Other sights include Jakarta's famed National Monument (Monas) and the characterful district of Kota, where cobbled streets and dinning opportunities around the Taman Fatahillah plaza await visitors.

A main tourist attraction in Jakarta is Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, built to portray the variety of cultures found within the many islands contained in Indonesia. This open-air museum comprises the many architectural forms of arts and traditions of all Indonesia provinces.

Close to Jakarta are further attractions, like the sunny beaches of Anyer and the city of Bandung, known for its volcanoes, hot springs and tea plantations. Also close to Jakarta is Bogor city, home to a selection of mountain resorts and the Taman Safari Indonesia and the Ujung Kulon National Park with a lush rainforets setting and now ranking a World Heritage Site.
